Main Line Steam 2006 Extra - Cathedrals Express Salisbury and Westbury

On 5th December 2006 a Cathedrals Express tour was due to run from London Victoria to Bristol and return. In the event, engineering work meant the tour would only run as far as Westbury. However, once at Westbury, the tour hauled by 'Black 5' no. 45231 would return tender first, climbing via Upton Scudamore, to Salisbury. The tour would then return again to Westbury, before heading back to London via Salisbury. 45231 was assisted by a Class 73 Diesel (no. 73107) running 'inside' (behind) 45231 on the leg to Westbury and at the rear of the train on the return. This short collection of images are taken from the first run from Salisbury to Westbury and return.
