North Wales Railways 2009

A visit to North Wales enables us to have a quick look at a couple of lines in the area.  A handful of sound recordings can be found on Sound 2009 here.  There are more images to upload so check back soon.

	The first train of the day on the famous Ffestiniog Railway sees 'Double Fairlie' David Lloyd George climbing towards Tan y Bwlch.
	The terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway at the atmospheric Blaenau Ffestiniog.  The station provides a link with main line to Llandudno Junction and we see Arriva Trains Wales Class 150 no 150237 awaiting its next duty.

156kb	The first train of the day on a recently rebuilt part of the Welsh Highland Railway.  Here we see former South African Beyer-Garratt NGG16 no143 near the site of Nantmor Halt.  143 has just departed the temporary terminus at Hafod y Llyn and is heading for the Aberglaslyn Pass before continuing to Caernarfon.
